Sandra Schoger Foster has always loved the Lord. As a child, she couldn’t wait to go to Sunday School and church every Sunday. Granted, she was eager to be with her friends, but it was also to hear about Jesus. Tell me the story of Jesus, write on my heart every word, was one of her favorite songs.
One of her favorite Bible verses—which has been a prevailing theme in her life—is Philippians 1:6. Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ. Through the normal pain and disappointments of life, she knew that Jesus had begun a good work in her and HE would carry it on to completion.
Sandra’s first book, Daddy, Will You Dance with Me? a gift book, published by J Countryman—Thomas Nelson, 2006, holds rave reviews and a 5-star recommendation by Amazon.com.
Daddy, Will You Play Catch with Me? a companion gift book for fathers and sons, has been submitted to the publisher.
Her publishing credits include writing her personal experiences with the Dobsons in Family Man, The Biography of Dr. James Dobson by Dale Buss.
She contributed two chapters in Making the Blue Plate Special, The Joy of Family Legacies, by Florence Littauer, Marita Littauer, Lauren Littauer Briggs, and has written numerous articles.
Along with her freelance writing, she is in the process of writing a novel based on a true story about, Andrew, a 16-year old boy who has to leave his boyhood home, Frauendorf, a German hamlet in Romania, set in 1924. He witnessed the murder of his favorite uncle by the Secret Police and has to flee to America. The gunslinger realizes he’d better flee too, as they were not supposed to harm the Germans, just run them out of the country. They are both on the same train heading to the north of France, to catch the same steamship, Olympic, the sister ship to the Titanic. Andrew thinks this man is chasing him since he’s an eyewitness. He meets a runaway Romanian boy and they form a strong alliance. And, yes, there’s a girl in the story, too. Intrigue, suspense and a bit of romance engulf the three of them. It doesn’t end when they reach Ellis Island. Many years later, by chance, Andrew meets up with the Secret Police who killed his uncle and an unlikely situation occurs.
Sandra is available to speak at women’s luncheons, daddy and daughter dinners, MOPS and various gatherings. She lives in Southern California with her husband, Ray. They have a daughter and a son, and seven grandchildren.
